Last updated: February 1, 2026

1. Right to erasure

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have a right to erasure of your personal data. You can request the deletion of your NextWatch account and of all associated data at any time. This action is permanent and irreversible.

2. Deleting your account from the app

To delete your account directly from the NextWatch app, follow these steps (the app's labels are in French):

  1. Open the NextWatch app and sign in to your account
  2. Go to the Paramètres (Settings) screen from the navigation menu
  3. Scroll down to the « Application » section and tap « Supprimer mon compte » (Delete my account)
  4. Carefully read the warning about the permanent deletion of your data
  5. Tap « Envoyer l'email de confirmation » (Send the confirmation email)
  6. Check your inbox and click the confirmation link (valid for 15 minutes)
  7. Once the link is clicked, your account is deleted immediately and you are redirected to the app

This double confirmation by email ensures that only the account owner can trigger the deletion, preventing any accidental deletion.

3. Data concerned by the deletion

Deleting your account permanently deletes all of the following data:

  • Authentication data: email address and login credentials
  • Profile data: display name, avatar and personal information
  • Preferences: favourite genres, selected streaming platforms
  • User content: ratings, comments, watchlist and personal Top 10
  • Social data: friends list, invitations sent and received
  • Technical data: push notification tokens (FCM)

None of this data is kept once your request has been processed, except for data we are legally required to keep (tax or legal obligations, where applicable).

4. Processing time

Your data is deleted within a maximum of 30 days of your request. During this period, your account is deactivated immediately and your data is no longer accessible or visible to other users.

5. Alternative deletion method

If you cannot delete your account from the app (access problem, forgotten password, etc.), you can send us your deletion request by email at:

contact@nextwatch.code-family.fr

Please include in your email the address associated with your NextWatch account so that we can process your request. We will confirm the deletion by return email within a maximum of 30 days.

6. Consequences of the deletion

Deleting your account means:

  • The permanent loss of all your data (ratings, lists, comments, friends)
  • Your account and data cannot be recovered after deletion
  • Your profile is removed from other users' friends lists

If you want to use NextWatch again after deletion, you will need to create a new account. No data from the old account can be restored.

7. Contact
